I recently had my attention drawn to two videos that struck a chord with me. Struck a chord because so much of the content reminds me of my own journey through life – the people, the places and the affinity for trout.
The first of these is about relationships and some of the important things in life –
Fishing for trout for more than 60 years has been consuming, the hold like a spell has been almost absolute, and some kind of vexing yet delightful voodoo. Some of the reason is because I find trout so graceful, powerful and secretive, so unwilling to adapt to civilization, creatures worthy of respect; likeable fish, recalcitrant, intractable, defiant. Everything spooks them, sending them swimming for cover, for survival.
And second, this is why I fish and why trout are so important to me, the glue that binds together much of everything I do.
