This is a short post to bring you up to speed with the evolution of the midge I wrote about a week or so back – (https://callofthestream.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/midge-magic/) Rethinking and tinkering as I’m inclined to do so often, has resulted in removal the almost realistic appearance of the original and created instead a more appealing suggestiveness, movement introduced with the use of CdC and with it the illusion of life. But most of all it has changed from a slow, complex tie to a simple one with just three materials. It also now opens the door to smaller sizes as midges should be and even a parachute hackle version with upright split antron wings for better visibility – watch this space!
I’m pretty sure the new version will also be more effective than the original.
